Industrial Engineers are a class of people who study time and time efficiencies for purposes of commercial benefit. People who study Algebra in middle school or high school might remember word problems about two planes or cars moving in opposite directions with various fact finding tasks about distance and velocity. Those expressed energy and changes in position with time, but they didn't really get people to focus on the benefit of time savings and rate of change for individuals.

As a Mechanical Engineering Student, we were required to study a little Industrial, Electrical, Chemical, and Materials Engineering as well.

I enjoyed the Industrial Engineering Classes a great deal. I found them easy, but I also found them to be very revealing about the study of time and benefits that is really close to what we got in algebra, but with a more tangible message for personal use
